Passive infrared technology has been the gold standard for motion sensors for over 20 years, detecting movement by sensing body heat. Now Qolsys has added its proprietary S-Line sensor technology, creating a secure, encrypted wireless connection to the panel. It is triggered when a person or animal enters an area within its 30-foot range. It can be set to ignore animals smaller than 40 lbs., drastically reducing the chance of a false alarm caused by a pet.
