ADC-V523—Camera Not Communicating
Summary: Discover how to troubleshoot and reset the ADC-V523 indoor video camera to resolve communication problems and restore connectivity.
Causes of Camera Communication Issues
- Distance to the Wi-Fi signal source may exceed the maximum range limit.
- Physical materials, such as heavy concrete or thick metal walls, may block the signal.
- Electronic interference caused by devices emitting similar signals or consuming significant bandwidth.
- Changes to Wi-Fi settings, such as switching service providers or replacing a router, require reconnecting the camera to Wi-Fi.
Troubleshooting Cameras
- Address proximity issues by:
- Moving the Wi-Fi router closer to the camera or vice versa.
- Using a signal extender to bridge the gap.
- For dense materials obstructing the signal:
- Reposition the camera to improve the signal path.
- Use a signal extender if the obstruction cannot be mitigated.
- Resolve interference from new electronics by adjusting the placement of either the camera or interfering devices.
- Perform a full reset on the camera to reconnect it to Wi-Fi. See reset instructions below.
Camera Reset Instructions
- Press and hold the WPS/Reset button until the LED flashes green and red (approximately 15 seconds), then release.
- The camera will reboot to factory default settings.
- If the camera was previously linked to an Alarm.com account, it must be removed from that account before reinstallation.
