Monthly Monitoring Fees

Each month, you pay a monitoring fee to keep your security system active. This fee—starting at $29.99 per month—covers around-the-clock professional monitoring, alarm dispatch, and technology updates. Systems that use cellular signals (via your mobile network) cost a bit more than systems that use a home phone line, because cellular service has higher communication costs.

Installation & Equipment Fees

Professional Installation: If you sign up for a 36-month monitoring plan, we usually include basic installation at no extra charge. A trained Brinks Home™ technician will come to your home, install your devices (cameras, sensors, control panel), and make sure everything works correctly.

Additional Equipment: If you choose extra devices—such as wireless cameras, motion detectors, or smoke sensors—you may purchase them outright. We will clearly show any equipment costs before you agree.

Non-Standard Installations: For homes with unusual layouts or special wiring needs, a small trip fee may apply. We will always let you know in advance if this fee is required.

If you’re not enrolled in Brinks Home™ Plus, technician visit fees are higher and vary by the level of service required. Standard service visits start at $99 per visit, while specialized or premium service calls can range from $150–$250 depending on your system and the work needed. Early Termination & Cancellation Fees

Your monitoring plan is a contract for the agreed term (usually 36 months). If you cancel early, you must pay the remaining monthly fees in full. This isn’t a penalty—it covers the service you committed to receive.

False Alarm Fines

A false alarm happens when emergency services are dispatched but no real emergency exists. Many cities charge $25–$35 for the first false alarm and more for repeats. These fines come from your local police or fire department, not Brinks Home™. To avoid fines, make sure you enter your security code when testing or accidentally triggering sensors.

Guard Response Fees

When your burglary alarm is verified and a third-party guard is dispatched, you’ll see a Guard Response Fee on your bill. The amount varies by guard company and location, typically ranging from $50–$85 per dispatch.

Payment Options & Avoiding Fees

  • Paperless Billing: Sign up for e-statements in your Customer Portal to skip the $5.99 paper statement fee.
  • AutoPay: Set up automatic payments with your bank or card to ensure on-time payment and avoid late fees.
  • Online Payments: Pay via the Customer Portal anytime—no convenience fee and immediate processing.
