LiftMaster Installation
Step 1: Install 888LM MyQ Control Panel
- Disconnect all electrical power to garage door opener
- Remove existing door control from wall
- Note polarity of wires connected to existing door control and label wires (Red/White)
- Disconnect wires from existing door control
- Connect wires to new MyQ Control Panel
- Mount MyQ Control Panel to the wall then reconnect power
- Yellow and red LED blink for 5 minutes as MyQ Control Panel recharges
- Test MyQ Control Panel, press push bar to activate garage door opener
- Connect to LiftMaster Internet Gateway (See instructions below)
Step 2: Connect LiftMaster Internet Gateway
- Connect Ethernet cable to router and 888LM Internet Gateway
- Connect power to 888LM Internet Gateway
- When 888LM Internet Gateway connects to internet, the green light turns solid
- Write down serial number on 888LM Internet Gateway to be used during registration
Step 3: Register Internet Gateway
It is important to note that you cannot register the internet gateway to the Brinks Home™ App if it is already registered through MyQ/LiftMaster. It must first be deleted from the internet gateway from your MyQ account before attempting to add it to the Brinks Home App. Usually it is available to re-register within 24 hours.
- Log in to your account by using your Brinks Home App.
- Access the garage door registration through emPower -> Garage.
- Enter the serial number of the gateway and continue.
- Select Add New Device to put the gateway into learn mode.
- Perform either of the two scenarios listed below:
- Scenario #1: After the yellow light is on at the internet gateway, go to the MyQ Control Panel (888LM) and push the learn button twice. The LED on the gateway will turn blue once the device is learned in.
- Scenario #2: After the yellow light is on at the internet gateway, enter menu > program > MyQ device on the Control Panel (e.g. 880LM). The LED on the gateway will turn blue once the device is learned in.
- Return to the Garage page and click Check for New Devices.
- Repeat steps 6-8 if initially unsuccessful.
