Add a Camera in the Brinks Home Mobile App

The below instructions will walk you through adding an indoor or outdoor camera using the Brinks Home™ Mobile App:

1. First, make sure your camera is connected to Wi-Fi by using one of these methods:

Wi-Fi Setup by WPS Enrollment
Note: To ensure sufficient Wi-Fi signal, complete these steps with the camera near its final location but prior to mounting.

  • • Connect the camera’s AC power adapter and plug it into a non-switched outlet.
  • • Hold down the Reset button on the back of the camera and release it when the LED begins to blink blue (about 3 seconds).
  • • Activate the WPS mode on the router. The camera will begin to connect to the Wi-Fi network.
  • • The LED will be solid green when the connection is complete.

Wi-Fi Setup by AP mode
Note: To ensure sufficient Wi-Fi signal, complete these steps with the camera near its final location but prior to mounting.

  • • Connect the camera’s AC power adapter and plug it into a non-switched outlet.
  • • The camera’s LED will begin to blink white. If the LED is not white after two minutes, hold down the Reset button and release it when the LED begins to blink white (about 6 seconds).
  • • On an Internet-enabled device, connect to the Wi-Fi network ADC-V515 (XX:XX:XX) where XX:XX:XX is the last six characters of the ADC-V515’s MAC address, which is located on the camera or on the packaging.
    On the same device, open a web browser and enter http://v515install in the URL field. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the ADC-V515 to the Wi-Fi network.
  • • The LED will be solid green when the connection is complete.

2. Log in to the Brinks Home Mobile App (available for download on Apple or Android).


3. From the main screen of the app after logging in, click the menu button in the upper-left corner, then choose Video. Select the settings icon (the gear) in the upper-right corner, then choose Add Video Device to begin adding a video device.

Note: if an error message states that you have already added the maximum number of cameras, then review your cameras list for any devices you may no longer use and remove them first. Otherwise, chat or text a Support Representative at any time at 469.513.8685 to discuss your current service level.

4. Locate the camera. Most cameras can be automatically discovered by the network, and you can simply click the blue Install button to begin adding the camera to the network. If the camera isn't automatically found, then you can manually enter the camera's MAC address at the bottom of the screen. In our example, the app has automatically found the ADC-V522IR camera that we wanted to add, so we simply clicked Install.

5. Name the camera. Once the camera has been identified that you want to add, you will be asked to name the camera. In our example, we named our camera "Test Camera". From there, you can click the next button on the keypad for your device to continue.

6. Wait for installation to finish,then the process will begin of adding the camera to the network. This may take several minutes to complete. Once it does, you can press the blue Next button to continue.

7. Test and finish: you will then be allowed to test the camera so that you can position it to your liking. If prompted to "Allow Alarm.com to Record Audio/Video", choose "Allow". Then check the image for your camera to make sure it is to your liking. Once you have finished, click the "Done" button in the upper-right corner to complete the process.
