How to Add Your Alarm.com Camera and Smart Chime

- Smart Chime W115C
- An indoor speaker that plays live chime alerts when your cameras detect activity.
- MAC Address
- A unique device identifier printed on the bottom or shown as a QR code—used to add devices in the app.
- WPS
- Wi-Fi Protected Setup: press and hold to join your router automatically.
- AP Mode
- Access Point Mode: your phone connects directly to the device’s own network for setup.
- LED Indicators
- Lights on the device that show power, network scanning, and online status.
Requirements
- Brinks Home™ App (latest version) and an active account
- Your home Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password
- Upload speed of at least 2 Mbps per indoor or outdoor camera, and at least 2.5 Mbps per doorbell camera
- Your device’s MAC address (printed on label or QR code)

Add Your Alarm.com Smart Chime W115C
- Power on: Plug the Smart Chime into a working outlet. Confirm the leftmost LED is lit. If it is not, try a different outlet.
- Enter AP Mode: Press and hold the WPS button on the side for about six seconds until the cloud-symbol LED flashes white.
- Join the Chime network: On your phone, open Wi-Fi settings and select Chime config (XX:XX:XX).

. Choose your language, then tap Scan. - Provide Wi-Fi details: Select your home network, enter the password, and tap Submit. Wait for the cloud LED to flash, then turn solid white—your Smart Chime is online.
- Register in the app: In the Brinks Home™ App, tap Video → ⚙️ → Add Device +. If the Smart Chime does not appear, type its MAC address. Name it, then tap Install. Allow about two minutes for setup.

Pre-check power and LEDs:
- If the LED is off:
- Indoor/Outdoor: make sure the power adapter is in a working outlet.
- VDB750/770 or Skybell: confirm wiring on the mounting plate and that the unit is fully snapped in.
- VDB780B: remove from the bracket and charge fully for up to seven hours.

Internet speed test:
Stand within three feet of the camera location, connect your phone to your home Wi-Fi, visit
Speedof.me, accept cookies, and tap Start Test.
Confirm upload speed:
- Indoor/Outdoor camera: at least 2 Mbps
- Doorbell camera: at least 2.5 Mbps

Enter setup mode:
- Indoor/Outdoor: press and hold the WPS/reset button for about six seconds until the LED flashes white.
- Doorbell: press and hold the call button for about thirty seconds until the LED flashes white.
- Join the camera network: On your phone, open Wi-Fi and select Alarm (XX:XX:XX).

Troubleshooting
No Power or LED
- Test the outlet with another device.
- Inspect the power adapter and cable for damage.
- Try a different outlet; if the LED still does not light, call support.
Camera Network Does Not Appear
- Move closer to the camera and repeat entering setup mode.
- Make sure you held the button long enough (six seconds for indoor/outdoor, thirty seconds for doorbell).
Cannot Join Home Wi-Fi
- Double-check your network name and password.
- Restart your router and try the scan again.
- Re-run the speed test to confirm your router’s coverage.
App Registration Fails
- Ensure the MAC address matches the device label or QR code.
- Force-close and reopen the Brinks Home™ App.
- Remove the device and repeat the “Add Device +” process.
