Outdoor Camera ADC-V721/V722—Camera Not Communicating
Summary: This guide provides troubleshooting steps to resolve communication issues with the ADC-V721 and ADC-V722 outdoor cameras. It includes instructions for identifying potential causes, troubleshooting connectivity problems, and performing a factory reset.
Causes of Camera Communication Issues
- Distance to the Wi-Fi signal source may exceed the maximum range limit.
- Physical materials, such as heavy concrete or thick metal walls, may obstruct the signal.
- Electronic interference from devices emitting similar signals or consuming significant bandwidth can disrupt communication.
- Changes to Wi-Fi settings, such as a new router or updated credentials, will require reconnecting the camera.
Troubleshooting Cameras
- Address proximity issues by:
- Moving the Wi-Fi router closer to the camera.
- Repositioning the camera closer to the Wi-Fi source.
- Installing a signal extender to enhance Wi-Fi coverage.
- Resolve signal obstruction by:
- Changing the camera’s placement to reduce interference from physical barriers.
- Using a signal extender to strengthen the Wi-Fi signal in outdoor areas.
- Mitigate interference by:
- Identifying and relocating devices causing interference.
- Adjusting the placement of either the camera or interfering electronics.
- If connectivity issues persist, perform a full reset of the camera. See reset instructions below.
Camera Reset
- Press and hold the WPS/Reset button until the LED flashes green and red (approximately 15 seconds), then release the button. The camera will reboot to factory settings.
- If the camera was previously installed on an Alarm.com account, it must be removed from the account before reinstallation.
