ADC-V724—Camera Not Communicating
Summary: Learn how to troubleshoot and resolve communication issues with your ADC-V724 Outdoor Camera, including identifying causes, applying fixes, and performing a camera reset.
Causes of Camera Communication Issues
- Distance to the Wi-Fi signal source may exceed the maximum range limit.
- Physical materials may hamper the signal, such as heavy concrete or thick metal walls.
- Electronic interference may occur from devices emitting similar signals or consuming excessive bandwidth.
- Wi-Fi changes, such as switching service providers or replacing a router, require reconnecting the camera to the new network.
Troubleshooting Cameras
- Address proximity issues by moving the Wi-Fi router or signal source closer to the camera, or by installing a signal extender to bridge the gap.
- For dense materials obstructing the signal, adjust the camera placement or use a signal extender to improve connection.
- If electronic interference occurs from new devices, reposition the camera or interfering device to reduce signal disruption.
- Perform a full camera reset to reconnect to Wi-Fi if other solutions fail (instructions below).
Camera Reset
- Press and hold the WPS/Reset button on the camera until the LED flashes green and red (about 15 seconds), then release the button.
- If the camera was previously linked to an Alarm.com account, delete it from the account before reinstallation.
