Panel Tamper Warning on Your GC2 Panel
If the keypad of your panel isn't properly closed, the Panel Tamper error will show. Look at all four sides of the keypad. If all sides look fully closed, you should first try to reboot the panel. If that doesn't work, you can open and close the panel.
How to Clear a Panel Tamper
Reboot the Panel
- Press the home button underneatht the screen.
- Press the bottom right corner of the screen.
- If you see a number pad, type in 1561.
- From the Installer Toolbox, tap System Configuration.
- In the bottom right corner, tap End and then Exit.
- The system will power down and then power back up a few minutes later.
- If the tamper error still isn't cleared, try opening and closing the keypad.
Open and Close the Panel
- Remove the screw from the top of the keypad (if present).
- Pull the top edge of the keypad forward to separate it from the backplate.
- Before closing the keypad, ensure that there are no wires or other obstructions that would prevent the panel from closing fully.
- To close the keypad correctly, first place the bottom edge of the keypad on the backplate, then press the top edge into the backplate.
- Re-insert the screw on top of the panel.
